Our People

All of our educators are fully qualified and committed to developing close bonds with the children in their care. They want to ensure children feel comfortable with them and develop close friendship bonds.

Our program isn’t set out at the beginning of the year, but is formed as we go and based on capturing children’s interests at the time. From our toddlers to our pre-schoolers, our educators are nurturing, loving and devoted. They are passionate about our community and always eager to tailor learning experiences to the children’s individual needs to maximise the potential of every interaction.

What makes you passionate about working in childcare? To me childcare is not work but a place I love to go each day, feeling honoured that I have the opportunity to be a part of making a difference in the lives of our little people. Our children are our future and have the right to be treated with respect and dignity.

The first five years of a child’s life are the most important years. During these years, 90 percent of a child’s brain development occurs. Every interaction a child has with his or her environment is an opportunity for learning during these years. Children learn through their play. Daily activities such as singing, talking, reading and playing, every sight, smell, sound and sensation have an impact on stimulating brain development and dramatically influencing their future health, learning and behaviour.

I am very passionate about my role in childcare, having the opportunity to work together with our families and their children to ensure that all children have a sense of belonging and have equal access to opportunities to be able to reach their maximum potential.

What is the funniest or most memorable moment you can share from working in childcare? I am known as Miss Jam by many children and I love it when the children sing happy birthday to me and ask if I am 6 years old. An older child once said “no, I think she is 11 years old”.

Why do you believe your centre is an excellent choice for parents seeking the best childcare? Our centre is a small centre set in a natural environment in Currumbin Waters.  Our Educators are a highly qualified and dedicated team whose number one focus is fostering a sense of belonging in our children and their families in a community that promotes interest, motivation to learn and happiness. Our programming is based on the children’s interests and their needs. Our children learn about sustainable practices and they have the opportunity to be involved in gardening as well as looking after the worm farm.   Michelle, our Early Childhood Teacher, runs the government funded kindergarten program and is the facilitator of the Early Years connect program with Griffith University.

By becoming part of our Aussie Kindies Currumbin Waters Community, your child will develop a sense of belonging and enjoy fun filled days learning through his/her play in a loving, caring, safe and secure environment .
